  According to the National Survey on Drug Abuse and Health from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration  22 million Americans suffer from drug abuse. According to National Survey of Substance Abuse Treatment Services there are anywhere between 40 to 60,000 people in a treatment center a month in the state of Texas  alone.

Statistics in Austin have shown that there are approximately 31,684 marijuana users,13,875 individuals abusing prescription drugs, 5,192 cocaine addicts, 2,356 individuals using hallucinogens, 1,323 people  that use inhalants, and 294 heroin addicts who reside in Austin, Texas. Among these individuals close to 3,999 will be arrested for drug charges and around 3,032 for DUI’s this year.

The amount that the US Federal Government will be spending fighting drug abuse is $12 billion. We’ve found that the average cost to stay in a drug rehabilitation  center is $7000 per month. Payments include Medicare, Medicaid, Self Payment, State Financed Insurance, Private Health Insurance or Military Insurance. Unfortunately a lot of the individuals abusing drugs don’t have any of these.
